Bonjour!

My written French is not strong enough to reply, so I will have to respond in English.

Artefactual does not test WAMP installations, but there are some community resources that have been developed - In case you haven't seen it, a community user has created a screencast of how to install ICA-AtoM 1.2 on WAMP: http://www.head2headweb.co.uk/ica-atom-cataloguing-software/

It will also help us to know a few more details, such as:

I have recently been trying to help several other users with WAMP installation problems - here are a few suggestions from those threads:

  • It may help you to update your PHP version - our minimum requirements recommends PHP 5.3 or later. Please take a look at some of the other specs on the page; there's also a  basic troubleshooting section.
  • Looking at some of the older threads  in our User Forum on WAMP installations, I noted in this thread that some PHP extensions are not enabled by default in WAMP. From the post:

I think WAMP does not come with PDO extension enabled by default. Fortunately, WAMP includes a tray icon where you can enable PHP extensions easily. It should be there one called "PDO" or something.

  • You may have to do the same thing for other PHP extensions, such as cURL, APC, etc. depending on which version of AtoM you are using
  • It's also important to ensure that MySQL and Apache are enabled in WAMP. WAMP should have a user interface option to allow you to verify that both services are enabled.
  • Another thread (here) notes that some later versions of WAMP (2.2+) might not work as well as earlier versions. This is from another discussion in the User Forum:
I think the problem is with wamp 2.2. You can use wamp 2.1
Thanks for the info Clara.  The latest 2.2d does not work, although I was able to get it installed using the earlier build 2.2a-p1-x32.
  • If you're still running into problems, you might try following the instructions here to enable the Debugging mode, and see if you can get more details - I found this on another User Forum post about WAMP:

...you could try to turn on debug mode in installation to see what is really happening there. Go to web/install.php and where getApplicationConfiguration method is called, set third parameter as value true:

line 5: $configuration = ProjectConfiguration::getApplicationConfiguration('qubit', 'prod', true);

See instructions on using the Debugging mode here: https://www.qubit-toolkit.org/wiki/Debug_mode

Some other ideas:
  • You may want to check that WAMP is not adding extra libraries in include_path - there is a possibility that this is creating conflicts with AtoM; we have heard reports of this before.
  • Often we discover that user installation problems involve a failure to make sure that all the necessary file permissions have been resolved - make sure that Apache (or NginX, etc.) has write access to the ICA-AtoM directory . Only a subset of subdirectories need read/write access but it will be easier for you if you give read-write permissions to the whole directory and its subdiretorices as the installation instruction recommends.

If you are still running into problems...
  • Can you try using WampServer 2.2E? It includes PHP 5.3.13 and we have heard it works very well with ICA-AtoM. Unfortunately, I'd suggest that you run the installer again from scratch to do this. Remove the directory, download the tarball and start again - I'm sorry it means beginning all over, but at this point, if you have tried all other options, it might be best to start fresh.
  • Similarly - these instructions may be out of date, but our Developer's wiki also includes basic instructions for XAMPP here, if you continue to run into problems using WAMP: https://www.qubit-toolkit.org/wiki/Xampp_installation

Good luck! Let us know how it goes...

Hello again,

I saw that your original post was deleted in our user forum (perhaps by you?), and that you reposted your question. Did you see my earlier response?
