Hi there,

We will need a bit more information to be able to help you. For example:
  • What is the full version number of your AtoM installation, as listed in Admin > Settings? (also visible from the command-line with this task)
  • Does your installation follow the recommended installation instructions for your version?
    • If no, what have you changed? (i.e. different operating system or Ubuntu version, different PHP version, different Elasticsearch version, different database or MySQL version, different webserver, etc...)
  • Did you install from our downloadable tarball (Option 1) or from the code repository (Option 2)?
  • Does your installation include any local code changes or custom development, including a custom theme plugin?
  • Have you upgraded recently? If yes, from what version?
  • What is the default installation culture (i.e. language) of your AtoM installation?
  • What, if anything, have you tried to resolve this issue so far?
  • Can you tell us more about how to encounter this error? Do you mean that every time you go to your AtoM URL, you get this error right away? Is there anything you changed recently that led to this, any more context that might help us understand?
The next thing we will need to do is gather more information about the 500 error itself. For this, someone will need to access the webserver's error logs. See:
Please share any relevant error message you encounter there.

Hopefully with a lot more information we can provide you with some further suggestions on next steps!

Cheers,

Sorry, I do not have a video on how to check the error logs, but this is something that the system administrator who installed your AtoM instance should know how to do based on the documentation links provided in my last message.

I recommend that you forward my last message to whoever installed and currently maintains your AtoM installation and ask them to answer all the questions with as much detail as possible and return the full error message from the logs. Otherwise, there are dozens of reasons why your site might not be working - and all of them will require access to the back end to fix anyway.

We will still need this info to be able to help you further!
