Generate Identifier in a multi-repository database

Hello,

We have a user in our multi-repository instance of AtoM inquire about the option to automatically generate identifiers. We've never used this feature before specifically in a multi-repository setting, so I was wondering if the generated identifier will be unique to each repository or whether it is database-wide? For instance, Archives1 generates Identifer1, Identifier2, and Identifier3, if Archives2 chooses to also generate an identifier, will it end up being Identifier4? 

I'm a bit hesitant to use this feature because I'm unsure if it'll cause any issues in the future. Would love to hear what other multi-repository instances have chosen to do.

It is database wide. In settings there is only one counter (Identifier counter) which increments to make it unique with your mask

 

The default is (Year then “-” then Month then “-” then Day then “/” then the counter)

%Y-%m-%d/#i

 

You can customise but not a lot
