Dear colleagues,
I have two problems with Autority records:

1. I can't edit the Autority record creator of my archive, linked to many archival descriptions.
When I try, I view a page like this (below) and I can't edit it.

2. I can't delete one Archival institution, I tryed to delete but the name is still on the list  and when I try to open this message is displayed: "Sorry, page not found. Did you type the URL correctly? Did you follow a broken link?"

Can you help me?
Thanks
Emanuela Fiorletta

Hi Emanuela,

From the HTML snippet you've posted in your message, it looks like there may be an error rendering your Authority Record edit page.  Please put ICA-AtoM into debug mode as described at <https://www.qubit-toolkit.org/wiki/Debug_mode> and post any error messages you see back to this discussion.

Regards,
David

Hi Emanuela,

Which version of ICA-AtoM are you using?

Also, please take a look at the web server error log. You may find some useful information there.

Thanks,

It depends on your system. If you are using Linux, logs are normally located under /var/log but it depends on your web server configuration. In Apache, normally the log files are located under /var/log/apache2. You are going to need root privileges to read these log files. In shared environments like Dreamhost VPS, log files are normally located under the home user directory with adjusted permissions so you don't need root privileges. Take a look at the documentation, in Ubuntu this may help https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LinuxLogFiles (specially the section Application logs).

Dear Emanuela. Did you discover the source of this problem? I am having the same. Someone created several archival institutions to test the system, but now I am not able to get rid of them.

Hello Rogério,

It's possible that the institution records have been deleted from the database, but are still being persisted in the search index and/or the cache. I would suggest that you try the following:

First, re-populate the search index. See:
Next, clear the application cache:
Finally, restart PHP-FPM, since it also has its own cache:
I would also recommend that you clear your browser cache before you re-test as well, or test in an incognito / private browser window, where the browser cache is typically disabled by default.

Let us know if this helps! If not, please tell us more about your system, such as:
  • What version of AtoM are you using?
  • What operating system have you installed on?
  • What version of PHP is installed?
  • Have you checked the webserver error logs? Please share any relevant message you find there
Cheers,
