Hi Johan,

Neat! Is there any reason you chose to use OpenSeadragon as the IIIF Viewer in the plugin and not UV or Mirador? UV and Mirador have a bit more functionality that takes advantage of IIIF whereas OpenSeadragon is mostly just Zoom.

Also curious if you've played around with leaving the AtoM viewing experience as-is and instead enabling the "link to digital object" feature in AtoM to point IIIF content in an external IIIF manifest? Vicky discusses this way of using IIIF in AtoM a bit here: https://groups.google.com/g/ica-atom-users/c/7qjJuQWVvF4/m/rD4cCT8AAQAJ (what Vicky describes is closer to what I think the ideal for "IIIF in AtoM" would be - essentially the ability to add a IIIF manifest as a linked digital object - like what Trinity has done: https://archives.trin.cam.ac.uk/index.php/letter-from-sir-james-mackintosh-to-thomas-malthus - instead of hosting and publishing IIIF from within AtoM infrastructure).

Take care,
Kelli

Hi Kelli

I am going to go to Mirador. TO be honest I did not do my homework here.

I am developing a totally new way with an extension. My custom theme will incorporate all this.

I will have a look at the post, perhaps borrow some ideas.

My extensions are 90% divorced from AtoM and only use the action and templates to render withing Atom. The rest of the code is Laravel.

Hi again

See the Mirador vier within AtoM

https://nahlisa.theahg.co.za/index.php/title-of-object

Need some fine tuning but there is no need to link to an external viewer.
