Dear Ana and Lucia,

One thing I noticed about your testing site is that you had translated the
English homepage partially into Portuguese. I realize now that you
probably did this because whenever a new user arrives on your site it
begins in English not Portuguese. This issue can be solved by changing the
default language setting for your site so that the site loads in
Portuguese by default.

Ana, this is done by making one configuration setting change in the
/apps/qubit/config/settings.yml file. At the very bottom of the file
(approximately line 97) is 'default_culture' setting. There may be a '#'
character which comments out this setting. Delete the '#' and change the
value from 'en' to 'pt'. These configuration files use the YAML format,
which uses spaces and linebreaks as delimiters. Therefore, if you delete
the '#' character be careful to leave exactly four spaces from the left
column to the first letter in 'default_language'. Once you make this
change and save the settings.yml file you will have to delete the cache
for this setting to take effect. The simplest way to do that is to delete
the contents of the /cache directory.

Cheers,

Hi Peter,

Yes, I did it but not to be final. I was just checking how to change texts
and how our Portuguese accents would "behave".

We will have a meeting later this week to define texts, etc. Then we will
have an official text for our beta site. DO NOT worry and thank you for
your interest.

Cheers,

A

I should also point out that if you only intend to translate your site
into one or two other languages (e.g. just Portuguese and English),
you can delete the other languages from the top menu (so that users
don't assume you are providing extra translations that aren't there).
This is done by an Administrator user. Go to Admin -> Settings -> i18n
Languages. Click the delete (X) button next those languages you don't
intend to provide translations for. If you change your mind you can
always go back to the same place and add them back using the select
box.
