Welcome to the AtoM community!
If you are looking to test out the system, we have a publicly available demo site here:
Credentials to log in are on the homepage. Please note:
- The site is open to anyone - meaning once in a while, someone might change the homepage, or change the demo account password. However:
- The site resets every hour, so these changes will always be undone. This means two things:
- First, if you can't log in for some reason, try again in an hour.
- Second, don't worry about messing things up, because it will all reset anyway, so feel free to test out everything!
- Note that some functionality - such as imports and uploads - is disabled for security purposes
If you would like a local instance to test on your personal computer (to test things such as imports and uploads, for example, or to be able to test for more than an hour at a time before everything resets), we do provide a Vagrant box, which allows you to create a virtual machine running a small test instance for local development and testing on a desktop or laptop. See:
- There are more detailed instructions (particularly for Windows users) in the these slides:
- HOWEVER: these slides are also now 6 years old, which means a few of the PHP commands in the last section are out of date (e.g. commands to restart PHP-FPM, etc). You will find updated links and more information for all the commands mentioned via our Troubleshooting page in the sections on Restarting services, or Running common command-line tasks:
Please be aware that this instance is for local testing and development ONLY. AtoM is intended to be installed on a server for use in production, and the Vagrant box is not scaled or configured to act as a publicly accessible AtoM installation.
Please let us know if you have further questions!
Cheers,
