Hello AtoM Community!

We're pleased to announce that registration for our upcoming AtoM Camp Toronto is now open!

Our third AtoM Camp will be held in partnership with the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Camp will be held over three days, starting on Wednesday, August 29th, and wrapping up on Friday, August 31st, 2018.

AtoM Camp is open to all types of AtoM users, from archivists to sysadmins, and all experience levels. This is a great opportunity to hone your AtoM skills, learn more about the AtoM project, and connect with other users. More information about the camp is available on the AtoM wiki:
You can head directly to the registration page via this link:
We have some 1-day registration spots available as well, if you can only join us for part of the camp.

We have not yet finalized the full schedule for the Toronto AtoM Camp, but if you'd like to get a sense of what previous Camp curricula have included, check out the wiki pages for our 2017 Vancouver and Cambridge camps. We'll also be adding more details to the Toronto Camp wiki page as they become available!

Will there be an opportunity to attend 'remotely'? It would be greatly appreciated as several colleagues are away (sabbatical, vacation, etc) and it would be difficult to be away from the office during that time. I'm sure many other archivists are in a similar situation.

Hi Katrina,

Interesting thought! Unfortunately, I think that managing a live stream of the Camp might be a bit beyond what we can set up in advance - but we might be able to record some of the sessions and upload them later!

Cheers,

Hi Dan,

If possible, that would be greatly appreciated!

Also, would just like to say thank you for your responses in this google group, they've been an incredible source of information as I try and figure out AtoM at my institution.

all the best,
Katrina

Hi all!

We're happy to announce that Amanda Hill has agreed to be our Community Counselor for the upcoming AtoM Camp in Toronto!

Amanda Hill is the Archivist for the Community Archives of Belleville and Hastings County in Belleville, Ontario. She has been involved with online description of archives since 2001. She managed the Archives Association of Ontario’s Archeion service between 2009 and 2015, overseeing the introduction of AtoM for the site and its 150 contributing institutions. In 2016 she set up Discover, a hosted instance of AtoM for the Community Archives.

Amanda's been using AtoM in various forms for almost 10 years now, and has substantial experience with training users. We are looking forward to collaborating with her as we prepare the curriculum for the upcoming AtoM Camp!

The 2018 Toronto AtoM Camp is being organized in collaboration with the University of Toronto, and will be taking place at the Robarts Library in Toronto, August 29-31, 2018. You can find a link to the Camp registration and more general information on the AtoM wiki here:
