Hello!

The quick search at the page of archival description is bringing other items other than the ones searched.
It shows the item I searched, also other items.
Is it normal?

Thanks in advance,

Carolina Melo

Hi Carolina,

Can you give us an example?

I discovered recently that the Quick search changed at some point from search *just* titles and identifiers to a full-text search (like a global search) - so the first possibility is that it is finding matches that are somewhere else in the description. Remember as well that in AtoM 2.3 and earlier, the default search operator is OR, not AND - so a search for city hall will return records that have city OR hall, unless the search terms are put in quotations.

The other possibility is that this is another affect of the known bugs described in these issues:

Both of these issues, as well as the default search operator, should be resolved in the next major release, version 2.4.

Cheers,

For example, I search for all descriptions with the name "Michael" in title. It brings me the following descriptions:
"Michael Smith" and "John Smith".
