New to Atom 2.4.

Installed test server for demo for staff.

The following pages are not working:

Under Admin:
  • Users: index.php/user/list
Under Manage:
  • Accessions : index.php/accession/browse
  • Donors: index.php/donor/browse
  • Physical Storage: index.php/physicalobject/browse
  • Rights Holders: index.php/rightsholder/browse

Theses all return a blank page.

Is there something in common with all these pages that would cause them not work.

Hi Jason,

We might need a bit more information to be able to help troubleshoot this, but it does sound like an installation issue. Did you install from the tarball available on our website, or from our GitHub repository? Have you followed the recommended installation instructions, or deviated in some ways? If you did follow them, have you installed with Ubuntu 14.04 or 16.04 - and if you didn't follow them, can you tell us more about what is different in your installation? What have you tried so far?

Have you attempted to put the application in Debug mode to see if you can get a stack trace for the errors? Is there anything relevant in the webserver error logs? See:

If you find any relevant messages, please share them with us.

It sounds to me like the issue is likely more than this, but one remote possibility is that there is a CSS issue with the base theme. You can try recompiling the CSS to see if that resolves the issue, running the following command from the root directory of your AtoM instance:

  • make -C plugins/arDominionPlugin

You might wish to try some of the other common troubleshooting tasks to see if they have any effect: restart services (webserver, php5-fpm), clear application cache, repopulate search index. Let me know if you need tips on how to run these commands.

Cheers,

Following the instructions to a tee is a bit difficult because our server is running CentOS 6.7. We have done our best to replicate the install instructions with equivalent commands. We use the downloaded tar ball from the website. I have tried both the packaged theme with the same results.
  • make -C plugins/arDominionPlugin - Did not change anything.
This list users (atom/index.php/user/list) page source code only has the following:

<h1>List users</h1>

<section class="header-options">
<div class="row">
<div class="span6">

but atom/index.php/user/add seems to load fine.

Hi Jason,

I've not seen this issue before - it does sound like an installation issue, and your best bet may be to try a clean installation. One of the most important things will be making sure that all the necessary PHP extensions and libraries are available on your chosen platform.

We've started trying to tag posts in the user forum, and there are a few posts that may be useful related to community users installing AtoM with centOS:

Note that in a couple cases, where installation guidelines were shared by community users, we have copied links to these into our Community resources section of the AtoM wiki. Artefactual has not tested these instructions, but they may be helpful:

I hope that helps, good luck!
