Hi all,

I'd like to remove the Quick Links item from my AtoM instance (the *i* in the upper right next to the clipboard and login buttons). According to the documentation, this can be done:

Don’t need or want the quick links menu in the header bar? You can remove it entirely if you prefer. Administrators can also change what links appear in the quick links menu (and all menus) via Admin > Menus. For more information, see: Manage menus.

However, the method described does not work. Step 3 under the 'Delete an existing menu' entry instructs the user to "Scroll to the bottom of the edit page and click the delete button in the button block." but this button does not exist on the Quick Links edit page. This seems to be the case with other top level menu items such as Static Pages, too. It would make sense to me if it's just not possible, but the fact that the documentation says you can remove it makes me think I'm missing something. Thanks!

Hi Josh,

Unfortunately, this seems to be an error in our documentation. I've just tested this myself and am seeing the same thing you are. On closer inspection, it looks like that top-level menu is protected - likely because the login and user account links are children of that menu node (even if they don't technically display as such in the user interface).

I apologize for the confusion - I'll fix that in our documentation. It may be a holdover from earlier 1.x versions of the docs - I'm not sure.

In the meantime, the best way to fully hide this menu is likely via a custom theme, where you could use some CSS rules to hide the menu. You will want to consider the impact this will have on user login, logout, and profile options - make sure that a class you're setting not to display won't also hide the login button and its menu items, for example - or the rest of the menu items!

Thanks for the clarification, Dan. I'll look into custom theming.
