Good morning,
Over the past year our team has taken a closer look at the available functionality tied to
accessions in AtoM. Although we've migrated a critical mass of our descriptive records to AtoM, our accession records remain in a legacy textbase and the current AtoM functionality has continued to pose a barrier to wholesale migration.
We've hit on a number of issues, some of which are logged in Github or here in other threads, and of some of which may be specific to us. Here's what we've pulled together:
- Cannot export accession records
- Cannot pull up list of the deaccessioned records; have to see them individually via their accession record. Add "deaccessioned" into title to make it easier for us to identify?
- Cannot manage donors communication independent of an accession record
- Cant have more than 1 contact per office - create new donor for people?
- Have to write full date for an event or it does not save. Have to add in a full date YYYY-MM-DD --- issue with legacy but not today's records
- Default taxonomies seem to come back even when deleted
- Cannot attach PDFs
I'm curious if there is any appetite from other AtoM users to pool resources in order to have improvements to the accession function(s) funded as a collaborative effort rather than waiting for things to get addressed over time.
Doing so would be, of course, contingent on Artefactual's involvement in terms of improvement feasibility and costing.
Any initial thoughts? Concerns? Red flags?
