  Editor's Note
Is the world ready for yet another network standard? The CTO of Atheros Communications told EE Times at the Embedded Systems Conference this week that the company is trying to rally interest in defining a standard for mesh technology in home networks. This effort, still in its infancy, will succeed only if it can attract the right mix of relevant stakeholders with skin in the game and a willingness to put in the work to create a niche standard in an area where so many already exist.
