| Two years ago, technology correspondent R. Colin Johnson reported some of the first details about HP Labs potentially game-changing "memory resistors," or memristor, technology. Long considered the "missing link" of electronic circuit theory, memristors could eventually force a rewriting of the textbooks. Now, Johnson reports that HP researchers have demonstrated a memristor-based architecture that could be changed between logic operations and memory. Will HP's "stateful logic" scheme spell the end of the CPU?
