Sorry for the delay in getting this out but I believe most teams are pretty well up to speed on the plans for racing this week. Here are some details and alway feel free to reach out for any questions.

As always our racing is informal and the emphasis is on fun. With that being the goal I hope no one is upset that I am not publishing an NOR or sailing instructions for the racing this week.

FRIDAYS RACE TO TRELLIS BAY:

Start will be at 4:30pm sharp between one of the new marina entrance marks and a committee boat. 3 min warning sequence.

All boats are encouraged to carry VHF radios and all IC24 class required safety equipment. We will use channel 69 for communication both Friday and Saturday.

The race to trellis will consist of 3 legs with the first finish between Hog Valley Red and Hog Valley Point. Hog valley red being kept to starboard. When you reach this finish stay close by so once everyone is there we can restart immediately.

We will endeavor to have a restart at Hog Valley red using a rabbit start. The second leg will take us to Beef Island cardinal. Finishing with beef island cardinal to port.

We will again regroup and restart at beef island cardinal using a rabbit start. From beef island the race will keep beef island to port and Bellamy cay to port with a finish between Island Last Resort's dock and drop mark keeping Island Last Resort's dock to port.

Boats will then be directed to mooring balls where we will be rafting boats. It is skippers responsibility to bring adequate equipment for mooring your boat and rafting so don't forget the fenders.

Ferry service will be available to transport crews to the island for cocktails immediately following racing.

There will be a bus/taxi available to transport teams back to nanny cay which will leave trellis bay at 9:30pm. There may be other taxis available but bear in mind Friday is full moon.

SATURDAY RACING

Saturday's racing will consist of windward leeward courses set in the vicinity of beef island and little camanoe. Racing will be with spinnakers both Friday and Saturday.

The first start will be no earlier than 1:00pm and we will race until 4:00pm or as long as teams wish.

Cocktails and dinners will be available for purchase at the Island Last Resort.

We will have a debrief of both days racing and a scores presentation Saturday evening following racing.

SUNDAY

No organized racing is currently planned but all boats are encouraged to participate in a fun race back to nanny cay. More plans to develop surely on this one.

Last but not least there is no entry fee for any of these events and as a result there are no fancy prizes to win. What is expected is that racers will frequent the bar and restaurant at the Island Last Resort and will spend lavishly buying rounds of drinks for all of their fellow competitors. Please support The Island Last Resort as they will be providing our race committee and transportation. Please also support Nanny Cay who have so graciously provided dockage for the IC24s.

Best Regards and see you all Friday.

Awesome.  Does everyone know what a rabbit start is?

This is a good idea of it.  We should change the 5 min to 3 min, and have the last boat be the Rabbit.  At Zero time the rabbit should round the starting mark and sail on PORT.  Rabbit will have right of way at this stage.  If we are doing a rabbit start for the first start, I nominate Ted as the rabbit!

More info and a drawing.
