How do you use your IBVA

Ok, in the UK using brainwave biofeedback technology is still very
unusual, so I'd like to hear from some IBVA UK clients about what your
profession is and how you use IBVA !

Hi Lu,

you might should create a basic topic for me as I will have questions
like this..

1. Are the left eye-movements shown larger on the graph or this
depends where the electrode is located and on the electrode quality?

2. I am using PP3 (9V) rechargeable batteries. As they capacity
reaches about 5.1 V IBVA stops... is that a battery failure or does
IBVA need more power?

3. Is it possible just to see the waves without recording them in the
Control Panel?

As the headband should be positioned totally central in the forehead,
there is no reason why Left Eye should be larger no.
This could be due to incorrect placement ( check middle electrode is
central ) and / or some muscle artefact from Left Eye and brow -
if you swap the headband around, do you still see this ? Proves not a
hardware problem, but some persons naturally exhibit more
EMG in facial expressions, a squint, tension etc...

Very low power, you can see this is going into the 'red' level. should
change batteries before they run too low.
Better quality PP3s from Maplins can be achieved, rechargeables not
lasting as long as good Durable Duracell.. some Japanese pp3s
hold charge better, make sure you use correct Charger for type of
Nicad or whatever battery you use if they are rechargeable

Record mode must be on, this is not the same as "Save"... all data is
passively recorded to be analysed.

HI Lu,

I see now how important it is to clue the electrodes very good on the
skin. If it moves you can't work with the noises. If it is tight, is
it still possible to get noise from something else?
I have seen one of the movies on YouTube where you say some IBVA can
be used for long distance performance (30m). Can you move with IBVA
while you are scanned? Dance?

The other thing. Sometimes it happens to me that after a while, during
recording and messing around with Brainfly or Midi the button for the
noise check vanishes is this normal?

Hi Lu,
I am having difficulties to distinguish my brainwaves. I am not sure
if I am using the EEg wrong or there is something I did not adjusted
well. Perhaps my brain works quite strange. Anyway.

I am using all different type of guided audio mediations and hemisync
tapes. I think they work well, but I am still not sure if I can see
the different on the graphs.

As you suggested I am learning from Anna Wise. In hear book she
describes all different sorts of mental states. I think, after all, I
should see more beta waves when I start my meditation as for instance
alpha, delta or theta. I can see some rhythms after I feel the other
state. I can see them in the beta area and sometimes in lower levels.

So my question is... should I see much more beta waves when I just
start a session. I assume I should.
I see the eye movements quite good.

dear Lu,

its me yvonne from austria :) i am using ibva in my seminars -
businessseminars as well as open nlp trainings - its a great convincer
for people to see how our thoughts influence us immediately, also to
show how and that anchors work! for myself i use it to create music
for my trance cds. the new update is great since then everything works
very well .

in my businessseminars i connect one person e.g. in a salestalk to
ibva - great experience is if people need to play a person with a
different world model - they still react strongly on words which meet
theyr own kriterias.
trance also is demystified - especially in business normally react
strange only if they hear the word trance :) ... with ibva they see
its normal.
i train a way to bring the participants into theta - so that they can
learn on an unconscious level - and they see they are not at all in
beta but mostly in theta :) so also people who think they cant go into
a trance see -the problem is to bring them out first ;)

i hope that is english ;)

i very seldom find people mostly in beta:
do you have hints, exercises on what you make people do/think to play
with ibva and hints on exercises for left and right hemispere? that
would be great
another question: if i want to show the peaks with dots .. since the
new update even the small ones are veeery big - how can i show them
really small ?

Eye movements like blinking, REM and also muscle artifact (frowning,
surprised expressions via movements in forehead, laughter )
are all High Amplitude,
IBVA plots all Eye/artefacts from 0-1 Hz
you can alter Delta Brain switch / threshold to NOT display any
peaks or electrical activity below 0.1 - 1 Hz via the Analyse
Preference menu for DC filttering

Eyes scanning do not make much amplitude, only blinking , REM and
other twitchy or expressive facial tensions !!

It is important to distinguish artefact from EEG , as EEG is non
invasive surface mounted recording, it is always prone to some of
this signal, differing from person to person -
where ever electrodes are placed, on forehead, in scalp etc.

Muscle and Eye tend to be WHITE spikes eg over 10 Microvolts of
amplitude if Eyes are open,
when eyes are shut, or when asleep DEEP SLEEP shows very high
amplitude of DELTA waves -
this is not the at the same time when very high amplitude of EYE is
displayed during REM ( dreaming)

1. When I had noise from the AC at 50hz, why was it only occurring at
those brain sides where to most activity was?

2. If I would use USB for my IBVA, would I be still able to record
less hours with my 9V batteries or then IBVA would get the energy from
my Max?

Ho,

The farm is too hot at the moment, so I relax with some binaural
beats....
Lu, I sent you some Screenshots...they are quite different of the
waves I had before with hemisync.
... I had some simultaneously working waves, but generally when I use
binaural beats... the H spheres swoop generating the bigger waves...

Please give me some feedback on them. Could they be noise?

need to look at Raw data window,,, is 0-1 continuoulsy peak at the
same high amplitude ?
looks like maybe Delta at 1 hz,, big sweep is like this with Delta in
stages

Thanks for that I think it should be delta... but I will send you the
screenshoots fro the raw data. I also made a DC cut for 0 -0.5 Hz.
I can not see the highest amplitude on raw data as they are topping
the limit..
what do you think?
