Muslim Aid is an international relief and development agency based in London with 21 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for disaster and conflict affected people across the globe. We are currently operating in more than 60 countries.  In Indonesia our main programs include Flood mitigation, Shelter and Livelihoods with our Field office based in Banda Aceh, and further sub-offices in Jogyakarta, Padang and Jakarta

 

1. Vacancy – Deputy Country Director (Based Banda Aceh)

This position is responsible for assisting and supporting the Country Director (CD) in delivering programmes in line with Muslim Aid's global vision and strategy.  To ensure that the projects remain within the remit of their original design, budget and objectives and to propose any amandements where necessary to the CD.  To provide support for the timely submission of donor, internal reports and proposals in conjunction with the CD.  To ensure program quality through regular monitoring of program activities and reporting to the CD.  In the absence of and when requested by the Country Director to represent Muslim Aid within Indonesia to donors, media and others stakeholders.  To ensure that Muslim Aid's mission, vision, values and objectives are understood and shared by all staff.

 

Qualification & Experience:


A first university degree-level education or equivalent expertise gained through relevant professional experience. Have at least five years experience in a senior management role with proven experience management including managing budgets, staff, funding of the programme, project planning and management.  Have proven experience as a Team worker and demonstrably co-operative with members of other teams. Have experience in dealing with projects involving international agencies and institutions.  Have experience of strategic policy development and implementation.  Knowledge or experience of NGOs and UN system.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:


Have excellent communication and interpersonal skill, Good IT skills, proficient in Word, Excel and other programs.  Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines; Have strong analytical skills and ability to think and plan strategically, creatively, innovatively. Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage a large and varied workload. Effective representational, negotiating and influencing skills and ability to communicate well in person and in writing.  Excellent standard of English both written and spoken Team leadership skills and co-operative and supportive team player..  Commitment to the aims and values of the organisation.

 

2.Vacancy – Human Resources & Admin Manager (Based Banda Aceh)

The HR & Admin Manager will help MAI in overall management of HR & Administration services functions to ensure adherence to Muslim Aid policies and procedures and delivery of timely and cost effective for the project.  To strengthen Muslim Aids response on project level through providing HR and administrative support and advice for the Field office and Sub-offices.  To develop and implement HR and Admin strategies and plans for MAI.  The HR & Admin Manager must work creatively and on the basis of own initiative to develop innovative but practical responses to issues as they arise.   He/She must to ensure the department keeps accurate records and that all-relevant information is promptly entered on file and the admin database.  Muslim Aid is looking for a highly experienced,  motivated and hard working individual.

 

Qualifications & Experience:  

At least university degree (management, law, psychology or relevant)  A minimum 5 years relative experience in HR and Administrative.  Has skills and experience in communication, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and excellent change management and project management.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:


Ability to maintain confidentiality,  Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and adapt to change.  Knowledge of employment law and budget setting.  Has good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar; Report writing skills, Has good communication and interpersonal skill. Good English is essential. Indonesian language is essential.  Acehnese would be an asset; Ability to work under pressure situation and with unusual situation in community.

1.        Psychosocial Support / Life skills Training Coordinator based at Bener Meriah

Responsibilities include: Designing and conducting psychosocial support activities for women and children, designing and conducting life skills training programme for women and children, designing and conducting trainings for community leaders, designing and conducting trainings for front life project staff and community facilitators

Qualifications: University degree. Proven experience of designing life skills and psychosocial support programmes. Proven experience of using PRA and / or other participatory approaches. 2 years experience of working with a child centered organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Experience of designing adult /youth literacy material modules desirable                

2.        MIS / Communication Coordinator based at Bener Meriah

Responsibilities include: Helping the project staff develop quality reports in English language, translating material from Bahasa Indonesia to English and vice versa. Developing literacy and communication material for literacy programmes, awareness raising and advocacy

Qualifications: University degree.Proven experience in designing communication material in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Knowledge and experience of using MS Access and publication packages. Experience of using PRA and / or other participatory approaches desirable

3.        Assessment Coordinator  based at Bener Meriah

Responsibilities include: Designing participatory research / assessment toolkit, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, produce analytical reports

Qualifications: University degree with a social research subject. Proven experience of using PRA and / or other participatory approaches. 2 years experience in research. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Knowledge and Experience of using SPSS and MS Access

4.    Training Coordinator based at Bener Meriah

Responsibilities include: Conducting trainings for men, women and children. Conducting psychosocial support activities for women,  children and community leaders. Writing training reports, Conducting ToTs for project staff

Qualifications: University degree. Proven experience in designing and conducting trainings. Proven experience of using PRA and / or other participatory approaches. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English. 2 years experience of working with a child centered organization. Experience of training in non formal literacy teachers desirable

5.        Community Mobilizers (3 men and 3 women ) based at Bener Meriah

Responsibilities include: Organize men and women committees, train members of community organizations, supervise and support community facilitators, carry out assessments.

Qualifications: College degree or equivalent certificate preferably in education / psychology / sociology. Experience in working with poor and vulnerable communities especially in forming community groups. Understanding of child protection issues desirable. Possession of valid motorcycle license (SIM C)

As Community Mobilizers will be based in the target areas, the candidates from NAD particularly from Bener Meriah and surrounding districts are encouraged to apply for these positions.

6.        Admin, Logistics and Finance Officer based at Bener Meriah (Salary range IDR 4-6 million)

Responsibilities include: Day to day monitoring and managing accounts and inputting these into the relevant computer software. Preparing cash count forms on monthly basis. Preparing monthly accounts for submission to Banda Aceh office. Managing bank / cash deposits. Preparing formats and forms for all the payments of CFI activities. Analysing budget with Operations Manager and Proejct Advisor. Preparing a weekly budget monitoring report for Project Advisor. Preparing reports for donors and meeting CFI's internal reporting requirements. Identifying potential finance and assets management problems and devising remedies to resolve these. Negotiating and concluding contracts for office space and expats accommodation. Managing and maintaining office property and equipment. Making purchases in accordance with CFI policies. Maintaining store, stock register, for assets and consumable items. Ensuring that  IT and other equipment is maintained, repaired and updated .Ensuring implementation of safety, health, child protection and gender standards

Qualifications: University degree or equivalent professional qualification in finance. 2 years experience of working on a finance and admin related position . Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English
