Partially missing of the 1990 ABE typhoon intensity data from variable usa_wind

Dear IBTrACS Team,

I am reporting a missing data issue.

While analyzing the recently downloaded IBTrACS v04r00 netcdf file, I found that the intensity of the ABE in 1990 is missing for a small period of time in the record for the variable usa_wind. The wind speed record was empty between 8/24/1990 21:00 and 8/25/1990 03:00. Prior to this period, the wind speed was 30 kt. After this period, the wind speed was 50 kt.

Also, the TC wind speed data is not missing in JTWC's best-track dataset (https://www.metoc.navy.mil/jtwc/products/best-tracks/1990/1990s-bwp/bwp1990.zip;bwp161990.txt) during this period. The intensity of ABE was 35-50kt between August 24th and August 25th.

I don't know the exact source of the problem, but solving it would help me a lot.

Hi  Zhengqin Shen,

The USA data for this part of the storm ABE is currently in IBTrACS as a spur with sid 1990237N13142. Spurs are a well known issue in IBTrACS, however this problem in ABE should be fixed in an update we have forthcoming within the next year.
