Difference Tropical Cyclone Data from 1979 - 2021

Dear IBTrACS Team,

 

Last April 2021, I have downloaded the IBTrACS data (ibtracs.ALL.list.v04r00.csv). Then, I wanted to know the number of Tropical Cyclones (TCs) which occurred during 1979 – 2020, and the results was 281328.

 

In early February 2023, I have downloaded the newest IBTrACS data and recalculated the number of TCs in the same period (1979 – 2020). However, the results was 281328. This showed there is a difference number of TCs during 1979 – 2020. The differences between the two data is about 1147.

 

Is there any information regarding this issue? I would be happy to provide my test script to find out this issue. Thank you in advance.
