Pre-release of IBTrACS upgrade: v04r01

We are excited to announce that IBTrACS is moving to version 4r01 and a pre-release for it is ready for public testing.

In the pre-release, a test set of data is provided at a temporary location (until it becomes operational).

The biggest differences are an addition of a new data source and the availability of US provisional and other agency best track data for the same storm.

Users experiencing problems with the link above should use a command line or GUI FTP client to access:

Subdirectory:    ibtracs/data/

Other Notes
As we complete our testing, there may be some changes in the data, so be aware. The best way to keep informed about IBTrACS is to subscribe to this forum so you will receive updates about the data.

Please also consider telling us how you use the data in the user registration form. Doing so will provide us valuable information to justify continued support and improvements and it only takes a minute.
