Hi IBS’ites,

Let us remember this day as we stood united to achieve a common cause i.e. to provide better medical & security facilities at IBS, Hyderabad . Though we couldn’t accomplish all that we wanted to, a few of us also have expressed dissatisfaction. But it is to be noted that it was ‘WE ALL and not a group of individuals’ that have triggered the process in motion.

At the end, we have won the battle to some extent on a peaceful note as the necessary amendments are on its way for us as we have hoped for.  We have started this battle as a united alliance and would continue to remain so. Despite what happened in the final moments as many unintended words were expressed by some of the students, it was spoken unintentionally and we would like to apologize for all that had happened.  Some of us might express discontent that a few had a private talk with the management and were influenced by them. But we also need to keep in mind that we cannot fight the ego of the management which would result in dreadful consequences which has already been witnessed in the history of this college. If we would have carried out our protest to the next level, the college was planning to shutdown for 3 weeks or other drastic consequences ultimately leading to the loss of all of us. We also emphasize that we were not scared but at the same time need to approach the issue in a more pragmatic perspective that things move on.

Having understood the gravity of the issue we hope to revise all the events that had happened today so that all of us can view it with a fresh mind:

Macro Perspective:

The management and the student board were travelling parallel paths but the ends never met. When I say parallel paths it means both the management and we intended to do the greater good but lacked on the communication front. It was understandable looking at the plight of the top management that they have went through the entire meeting yesterday. They suffered humiliation and weren’t mentally prepared to address the entire crowd again. This was truly understandable because if we step into the shoes of the management, we wouldn’t be prepared to face the students either. The management has furnished details on what is currently being done. It is listed down as follows:

·         Two Nebulizers have already been installed in the clinic effectively from today and two more have been purchased and will be effective shortly.

·         The new stock of medicines are being replenished in the clinic effectively from today

·         The quotations for ambulances are under consideration and once being finalized, the order would take place.

·         The advertisements will be published in the newspapers as and when the necessary edition for recruitment of doctors like Times Jobs, Ascent will be published with necessary follow up.

From the above points we see that managements have gained our valuable trust by initiating priority items. Regarding the speed brakers, sign boards and street lights, the institution needs to lobby the government in order to take up the construction. As the road along the college is considered to be a state highway, the government is skeptical on installing the necessary facilities. Despite this, our college is trying its level best to influence the government, politicians and the local authorities (panchayat) to make our college a safe haven. Management is still ready that those who are not satisfied can take up their issues with them without any fear and their plea will be well received.

The point proved by all of us is that we are now a “better men” than the management by stepping down thereby reaching on a peaceful negotiation. It is a series of developments that needs to take place in due course of time, some stretching from days to others from weeks to months. At the end of the day we all need to hope for the best and be optimistic that the sun would shine bright on us tomorrow with a feeling that we are safe and secure in this reputed college.

In addition, the management also offered us to monitor the situation on a timely basis as convenient to us with a further assurance that they would communicate updates through mails.

To conclude with, our friend Nihit’s name and the cause for which we fought for would be engraved in the history of IBS and registered for ever in the minds and hearts of all of us as well as the management.

We would continue to pray for a humble soul and may his soul Rest In Peace.

Love You Nihit…. You’ll be in our hearts for ever!!!

Plzzz forward this mail to all you know so that everyone is aware what had happened today.

UNITED we were, we are and we will…!!!
