2.5.6 installer crashes

On my Amiga 2000 with a 68040 running OS 3.2.1. I double click the installer and within a second or two the machine restarts. I have no idea what is going on and no idea what to do to narrow down the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Turns out it was due to my RTG card. Dropped back to NTSC resolution and it quit crashing.

Which card do you use? Do you have the latest version of P96?

I have a GBAPII++ and the latest P96 from Individual Computers. I fixed the problem, since even after install IBrowse would crash the machine in an RTG resolution. The problem was with picture.datatype. The Individual Computers P96 doesn't include a new picture.datatype. Once I replaced my picture.datatype with one from the 2.1e Picasso96 everything started working.

Thanks for sharing this information. I'm planning to try P96 with one of my Amiga rebuilds. How did you narrow the problem down to the missing picture.datatype?

I used SnoopDos to monitor the startup and it died trying to load the splash screen image. I then thought it might be P96 related so on that hunch I compared its files to the files of the 2.1 version of Picasso96 and picture.datatype wasn't present in P96, so I tested replacing my 3.2(.1) version with it and everything started working.
