I'm excited to announce the release of yards (yet another residential district simulator — all lower case). This open source project is designed to make high-fidelity, Modelica-based energy systems models more accessible to the control community.
yards packages custom Modelica models into an interactive web-based simulator, making it easy to interface them with controllers in a variety of programming languages. Our core idea is the same as that of BOPTEST, but we target a different use case. Where BOPTEST is a curated set of benchmark models with global scoreboards to compare controllers, yards is intended for packaging custom, user-defined Modelica models and is aimed at small-scale projects.
