But the new charges do not make any "sense", $ 19.95/100HR, which works out
to 0.1995/HR, but a 10 fold increase per additional hour??? It sound like
they don't want the business, only the low volume, high profit user, screw
everyone else!!!
I can get a T1 for under $ 1000.00 per month, I already have two Compaq
ProLiants running NT 4 Server now, and have at least one Cisco 4700 "in
hand", six clients, two duplexing high volume HP 5SIMX printers, and few
other "toys". All at "home"!!! I think I can handle a T1!!!
I only in the last few days joined AT&T WN, as 2000+ minutes of LD TOLL
CHARGES was getting a bit much per month; I gather I am one of those 100+
hours users???
I am not eligible for DIALUP TCP/IP with any ISP, as what was our local
TELCO, NYNEX, did nothing to remove "mechanicals", and discontinue the use
of "carrier subscriber services" (a form of multiplexing, designed in the
60's by BELLCORE,
as temporary relief for rapid growth) on our "LOCAL LOOP". Bell Atlantic is
doing nothing either to improve the service either since acquiring NYNEX,
and their great INTERNET SERVICE is not available in any of the old NYNEX
area's, as they are reselling IBMNET. I have to "stream" a REALAUDIO
connection just to stay connected with any ISP for more than five minutes,
that is where the X2 comes in handy. I am not HW "poor", this with several
NT, and OS/2 based desktops / laptops, all with plenty of resources
available, all through high end 3COM /USR DTE's (modems etc.).
One question, IS IBM JOKING??? AKA, an Aprils Fools Joke??? Lou to Planet
Earth, do you hear your users, not just dollars following into your
pocket??? BIG BLUE WAKE UP!!!
