Just as an FYI. When people do get jobs, it turns out you can't cancel your health insurance through IBM mid-month. Meaning if you have a start date of August 12th and your new company will be covering you as of August 12th, you still have to pay for the TMP/COBRA through the end of the month.

I just found this out the hard way, hoping to save you guys some $$ when you are thinking about start dates.

Another FYI from my end:  You have to explicitly ask the Employee Services Center to have your EAP benefits extended.   This did not automatically happen when you requested extended medical coverage.    The EAP benefit costs you nothing so why not get this extended, even if you think you are not going to use it.
