Joe -

Our team supports both Samba and the Windows AFS client on a best effort basis.  The AFS client is preferred over Samba.  Instructions for the installation are at:  http://stgithelp.austin.ibm.com/drupal/?q=node/459

Hi John,

I see your name associated with a couple smb machines in rochester.  At one time I had an afs client on my pc, but with a switch to windows 7 isn't gone.  Before that I was using a samba server.  Unfortunately I don't remember the correct share to use.

So,

A)  Are you a good person to be telling this to?

B)  Is smbpub.rchland.ibm.com, or smb1.rchland.ibm.com a good server to use?

C) To simply get my afs login dir mounted what should I use for the share name?

And I guess,

D) If "I'm barking up the wrong tree" do you have any ideas where I should turn.

Thanks much in advance.

Joe
