I was trying to attach a jar file which was complied in Java 1.6
to my EAR project which is installed in RAD WebSphere 6.0 test server.
But when i try to run the application i get a Version Mismatch error.
Cant WebSphere 6.0 servers take any jars which is built in Java 1.6.
Does everything has be built in within WebSphere environment only.

WAS can probably take something compiled on an older JDK version than
itself, but not a newer one.

WebSphere Application Server 6.0.x runs on J2SE 1.4. If you need to use a
later version of javac you'll need to use the -source and -target options to
tell javac your source and intended target platforms (in this case "-source
1.4 -target 1.4"). This is a general Java requirement.

FYI WAS 6.1.x runs on Java SE 5, and WAS 7 runs on Java SE 6.
