Hi,

We are trying to post an Inbound order which contains Japanese characters
into SAP using the Idoc_Inbound_Asynchronous function call using the Visual
Age runtime libraries - libivjsid20.safe and libivjsij20.safe . But the
japanese characters get corrupted when the idoc reaches SAP.

We are using a Japanese SAP 4.6C System on Solaris 2.6J

We are printing the contents of the idoc we have in memory just before
calling
rfcmodule.callreceive() and all the japanese characters are intact. However
when the idoc gets posted into SAP it gets corrupted somewhere on the way.

We also tried posting an inbound idoc generated via startrfc and it posted
successfully without any corruption. So we assume that the SAP system has
been configured correctly.
We also tested our program on NT and it works fine. We used libivjsid20.dll
and libivjsij20.dll libraries to call IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS and the
japanese characters showed up correctly in the same SAP system (4.6C on
Solaris 2.6J).
We tried our program on different Application servers like Websphere,
WebLogic and JRun. But all of them have the same problem. So it seems like
its not an application server problem too.

Is there any known patch/problem with the solaris version of Visual Age
runtime libraries for SAP as far as internationalization is concerned ?

Could you please give us some information asap ?

Thanks in advance,

Vedavati Kale

Vedavati,

we need a few more info.
Which version of Access Builder and Connector for SAP R/3 do you use? If you
do not already use version 2.0.3, you can download a fixpak from VADD
(http://www.software.ibm.com/vadd).
What is your selected Operating System codepage?
What codepage settings do you use when you logon to R/3 and what JNI
character encoding did you specify in the Connector's JniSettings object?
Please send us the appropriate low level trace file of your testcase. You
can find instructions of how to do that in our FAQ, chapter "E. Developing
applications with Connector for SAP R/3", question "How do I enable low
level tracing for RFC and BAPI calls?".

Kind regards,
Stefan
