I need help getting Help to work. I have been thru the 26 pages of Solving
Help Problems with no success.

When I Select Help, the web browser starts and then hangs. It may display a
URL, maybe more than that, maybe less. But it hangs every time.

When I start the browser manually and enter a URL, it also hangs.

This is happening on an IBM 300PL with 224mb, lots of disk space, Win98SE
and IE5.5.

Thank you.

Have you set your browser's proxy settings so that localhost does not
use a proxy server?

What version of VisualAge for Java are you using? Did it ever work? Does
everything hang or just the browser? How do you get out of it? Do you have
Netscape installed to try it on that?

I have VAJ Professional ver. 3.5.3. It has never worked on this PC, but has
work on two others; one running Win2000 and the other Win98SE. When it
hangs, it hangs the whole machine. Ctrl/Alt/Del does nothing. The mouse
cursor is an hourglass that will not move. All I can do is power off. I
have tried Netscape, with the same results.

Thank you,

Can you try to use the help without VisualAge for Java being open? Do you have
the same problem?
