New tooling APIs ?

Folk,
First thanks to Eric Clayberg's recent append regarding
Instantiations new VAJ Assist tooling:
"[ANN] VA Assist Enterprise/J for VA Java announced"
Reminds me of the good old Smalltalk days where the tooling
was written in Smalltalk, and you could modify the tool using
the tool itself (within reason :-)).
Anyway, does this mean that IBM has opened up some new
VAJ tooling APIs ? If so when will they be available to all, or
are these new API's "invitation only" ?
