1) Have PCOMM 4.3 with NT 4.0 SP4 configured for communications to
SNA/Server Version 4.0. Bring up first session with a fixed LU and it works
fine. Bring up a second session and it never comes up. Task manager shows
two PCOMM sessions "Not responding". Sometimes, second session will Dr
Watson. Works OK with Windows/95.
2) Second problem involves a session not connecting on two particular LUs,
12, and 13. Am able to connect via the Microsoft SNA client. When trying to
connect with PCOMM, a very brief message displays, indicating that the
client is trying to connect to LU number 2, which is already active. Thus
the client disconnects, and then keeps retrying. Pooling IS NOT configured,
and the LU's are explicitly specified in the configuration. Does not work in
either NT or 95.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

1) For this one has the admisistrator allowed you two sessions on the server
? You have to add your user name to each LU or add your user name to the
pool of LU's TWICE
2) Can you see the offending LU's in the PCOMM config panel, when it shows
you a list of LU's / POOL's and are you selecting the LU / POOL, or
perhaps you are leaving the POOL / LU box blank ( or a star ) to let PCOMM
connect to the first available ?

By the way, the main reason I went with the PCOMM client is for multiple
sessions on the same workstation, something I could not seem to make work
with the MS client. Am I correct in assuming the MS client supports only one
session per workstation?
Thanks in advance.

I know the code for FMI ( thats where PCOMM is on top of the MS SNA Client )
was "enhanced" in 4.3. You may have uncovered a bug in the PCOMM code. I
suggest you
a) Stick with PCOMM v4.2 until we release the next level of code ( CSD1 is
due very soon )
b) Report it as a bug to IBM - see the web site, or documentation in the
PCOMM box for details how.
Sorry I could not be more help.

The first session is okay, and PCOM 4.3 CSD 1 do not hang when the second
session is startet, byt i recive af error 653, witch tells me that teh
Session is disconnected, and then network and server is down.
My configuration is like the configuration John W. Hammaren, describt, and
is works fine witch Windows98.
Do anyone have at solution ??
Thanks in advance !.

I now know that the problem with PCOM 4.3 and multesession on af NT

1) You have installed the MS SNA Client on your NT workstation and PCOMM
v4.3 CSD1 is connnecting to the MS SNA ( version 4 ) gateway using the MS
SNA Client ( FMI ) ?
2) The same setup as above works fine on Windows 98 ?

1) Correct
2) Correct
If I installing PCOM 4.1 insted of PCOM 4.3 CSD1 it all works fine too. It
is only a problem with PCOM 4.3 and PCOM 4.3 CSD1.

I don't see a match for your problem and am aware of customers that manage
to run multiple sessiosn to a MS SNA Server, so I would suggest you report
your problem to IBM locally. You should find a little booklet in the
Personal Communications box, with a FAX and MAIL address to use if you do
not have a support contract.
