I have an issue while installing Pcomm 5.7 that I hope someone can help out
with.

The LLC2 protocol will not install if the installation is part of an
automated process.

Let me explain...

We use an unattended build process to build our XP desktops. At the end of
the automated
build, a batch file is launched from the [GUIRUNONCE] section of the
unattend.txt file.
It maps out to the server and runs a batch file that then installs all of
the base applications, Pcomm 5.7
being one of them. Pcomm installs fine with no error messages using the
following command
"setup.exe" /W /V"ALLUSERS=2 /qb REBOOT=ReallySuppress".

However, the LLC2 protocol does not install.

Here's where the fun begins...

If I manually launch the batch file that installs the apps (As opposed to
automating it at the end of the build)
LLC2 installs fine.

Another twist...
I tried removing the batch file from the unattend.tx file and instead put it
in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE RUNONCE key
(Also tried the RUN key, and the HKEY_CURENT_USER ones as well) so that the
apps would install at first login. Again it will not install LLC2.
I also tried the "Start Up" folder, but this does not work either.

The only way I have been able to install Pcomm successfully is to simply
have a shortcut to the app install batch file on the desktop. So when the
unattended build is complete, a user then has to double click the shortcut
to launch the app installs. In this situation LLC2 installs fine.
However, this puts a pause in my entire build process.

Conclusion:

It seems that LLC2 will not install if launched by an automated meams.
(This also includes delivering the app via GPO.)
The install must be initiated manually.

As anyone come accross this or a similar issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scott
