My product will be running on shared NT workstations.
I would like to prevent my users from changing ANYTHING or saving any
settings, etc.
I have changed the appearance of the pcomm window to be maximized, not have
a title bar, and to not have a menu bar.

However, when the user presses the left ALT key on the keyboard, the windows
system menu pops up with a "pop-up menu bar" which gives access to the menus
(file/edit/transfer etc).

Is there a way to turn this off? or do I need to find another product?

thanks for any help

This isn't an absolute solution, but:
1..go to pcomm utilities
2..emulator utilities
3..menu-bar customization utility
4..open the appropraite .ws file
5..delete all the menu options(I can't get the help option
deleted though)

When the alt key is pressed, just the remaining menu options are displayed(in my
case, help)

The utility option will have to be removed from the option list so the users
cannot change back(all they have to do is press default)

There may indeed be other ways(I only had pcomm for a week now)

Good luck

Steve,

Hopefully you can still use this information. The "correct" way to
remove the menu options from PComm is to use the PCSMenu.EXE program
that is installed in the PComm directory (wherever you installed PComm).
This will add a series of DeleteID.nn= statements under a [Menu]
paragraph in the .WS file. You're right in your assessment that the
Help menu can't be deleted from the PCSCMenu.EXE program. To take it
off, edit the .WS. If you have a DeleteID.nn= line with any number
above 1160, edit that line to be 1160. That's the internal value of the
Help menu. (If you did like I did, you deleted all the menu items off
the Hlep menu you you have several in the 116x series.) Save the file
and when you reload PComm, the menu bar will be gone.
