The regular NFL season has come to a close and now it's time for Wild Card Weekend. This Sunday during the NFC playoffs, the Los Angeles Rams play the Detroit Lions, kicking off at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The Lions (12-5) are currently favored to win over the Rams (10-7). Ready to watch some football? Here’s how to watch the Rams at Lions game tonight, plus our recommendations for the best ways to watch every NFL playoff game, from Wild Card Weekend to the 2024 Super Bowl.

The Detroit Lions and the Los Angeles Rams are both 10-7 and have clinched playoff spots in the NFC. They will face each other on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 7:15 AM BST, at the Ford Field. The game will be broadcasted on TV by NBC. The Lions have a 61.7% probability of winning, according to the league’s summary.

Both teams have strong offenses, averaging more than 350 yards and 20 points per game. The Lions have a slight edge in passing, while the Rams have a slight edge in rushing. The Lions have a better defense, allowing fewer yards and points per game than the Rams. The Rams have more turnovers, but also more penalties than the Lions. The team game statistics are available on ESPN.

The last time these two teams met was on October 24, 2021, when the Rams defeated the Lions 28-19 at the SoFi Stadium. The box score for that game is also on ESPN3. The Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns against his former team, while the Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns. The Rams’ running back Darrell Henderson rushed for 45 yards, while the Lions’ running back D’Andre Swift rushed for 48 yards and one touchdown. The Rams’ defense sacked Goff twice, while the Lions’ defense sacked Stafford once.

The upcoming game will be a rematch of the 2021 NFC Divisional Round, when the Rams eliminated the Lions 30-20. The Lions will be looking for revenge, while the Rams will be aiming for another Super Bowl appearance. It will be an exciting and competitive game between two of the best teams in the NFC.

Yes, it’s the Detroit Lions’ first home playoff game downtown in the stadium that opened for the 2002 season. (Though not the first NFL playoff game there — Detroit hosted Super Bowl XL in 2006.) That also makes it the first Lions playoff game within Detroit city limits since the franchise won the 1957 NFL championship at what was then called Briggs Stadium; the structure at the corner — er, The Corner — of Michigan and Trumbull wouldn’t be known as “Tiger Stadium” for another four years.

Of course, the franchise only hosted two playoff games from 1958-2001, with the Lions beating the Cowboys on Jan. 5, 1992, at the Pontiac Silverdome and then losing to the Packers on Jan. 8, 1994. How long ago was that game? Just 12 players on the Lions and Rams rosters combined were alive for that game: The Rams have Cooper Kupp, Tyler Higbee, Carson Wentz, Rob Havenstein, Aaron Donald, Brett Maher, Carson Tinker and, of course, Matthew Stafford, while the Lions have Jake McQuaide, Graham Glasgow, Teddy Bridgewater and Taylor Decker.
