I have recently repaired my corrupted "ubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso" file, which I downloaded with free Internet Download Manager (IDM). The md5sum of this file was not matching with the correct one and when I tried to boot using a live usb it said something like "corrupted kernel image". I did some googling and finally repaired the file using torrent as follows:-

corrupt image download. hash was

I never used torrent before so I first downloaded a torrent client (uTorrent) and got a bit familiar to it. Then i found a torrent file of the exact iso. Afterwards Iput the corrupted iso image in the location* where the file was about to be downloaded by torrent, BEFORE STARTING THE TORRENT DOWNLOAD for the file. And when I started the torrent download then instead of starting the file download it checked the corrupted file kept at the location by me and downloaded 10 or 15 MB of corrupted data and when I checked the md5sum with Cygwin it matched with the correct one. I was saved from re-downloading the 701 MB file on my costly 3G data pack.

I am a newbie to both Javascript and ipfs and I am trying an experiment to fetch an image buffer from the ipfs hash "QmdD8FL7N3kFnWDcPSVeD9zcq6zCJSUD9rRSdFp9tyxg1n" using ipfs-mini node module.

Below is my code

I could view the image properly in the browser using the link below " ", but if I open the file 'tryipfsimage.gif' in which I dump the return buffer of the cat API in above program, the content of the image seems corrupted. I am not sure what the mistake I am doing in the code. it would be great If someone points me the mistake.

You could try loading and booting off the new image using the rommon tftpdnld utility. You essentially give the router a temporary IP address and can download new code then boot the router. I believe this method would also remove the corrupt image.

From this [ -i-check-if-downloaded-image-is-corrupt-or-not-before-saving] question it says that if i try and load this image in a UIImageView and it doesn't load this image is corrupt but my images will load in this corrupt format without issue so that solution does not work for me.

This event generates when code Integrity determined that the page hashes of an image file aren't valid. The file could be improperly signed without page hashes or corrupt due to unauthorized modification. This event also generates when signing certificate was revoked. The invalid hashes could indicate a potential disk device error.

crc failed (image above) I can actually extract it and see the ova file but once I try to import it into Virtual box I get an error that say the image is corrupt? can anyone offer any suggestions? I would really appreciate any guidance. I was able to complete this on a windows 7 machine but on my windows 10 machine I have had no luck.

It seems that the glance image is corrupted making it failed to build instance. The instance right now is in ERROR state. Is there any way I can repair the glance image like without changing image ID and bring back my instance?

Verifying your download is an important step: we generate a "checksum" for elementary OS images and recommend that you verify that your download matches that checksum before trying to install. This ensures that you've received the full, complete download and that it is not corrupted.

Downloading the stable build from here, and checking its properties shows I can unblock it, so I do. Trying to either open it with 7zip, or mounting it like any-other disc img file fails each time. I can open it up in HxD, but I can't find any hash values to compare it to so as to verify if it really is corrupted or not

You're not supposed to unpack the .tar file but rather feed it to sysupgrade as-is. The corruption error is due to the fact that the image carries some trailing metadata which is reported as "archive corruption" by various tools.
