Anyone have an idea of how to code for this change? (Please note, I am not spamming friends, I have a preselected user list of about 300 friends that want invites to music events in my area and it is a huge pain to individually select them).

I don't want to be notified about every friend's birthday on Facebook. There are only several birthdays that I want to be notified of. Is there any way to filter these messages somehow (e.g. by adding the friends to a list) and have it only remind me of these birthdays (via email)?

If you use Yahoo mail there is a way of doing this. In Yahoo Contacts you can import your Face Book Contacts. Once they are imported you will will have to go to each individual that you would like your birthday updates from and choose to "Get Updates" They will get a request to allow you to get the updates. once this is done you will get the updaes from a group of friends into your yahoo mailbox. If you don't use yahoo then you can set up a forwarding rule to forward the updates to your Email Address.

All three friends told me they confirmed my request. When I try to log in it gives me the same security prompt to recover my account. Now it says they will review my information and email me. Has anyone experienced this? How long does it take to recover my account?

Another case could be that you are one of those early Facebook users who had created a page but at that point of time, there were hardly any people in your friend list to whom you could introduce your page. But now you have many friends and want to invite each one of them to your page.

Note: This code works perfectly on Chrome 21; as of 23rd August 2012. The post will be checked and updated on a monthly basis if there is any change in the Select all friends code.

Notify any error or difficulty you face when attempting this trick in the Comments section specifically.

I realized that while I find value in using Facebook Messenger to contact my friends, I don't enjoy looking at my Newsfeed updates. It's not that I'm not interested in my friends' lives, but I would rather save the updates for in-person communication where it's most rewarding.

You can then one-click to unfollow each account. Unfortunately, there is no way to select it all at a time so you would have to click on each account to unfollow. I created a simple script with Keyboard Maestro to click on the 9 avatars with a hotkey.

At the top right of any Facebook screen, click Account, then choose Edit Friends; if you already have a few Facebook friends, you also need to click Find Friends on the left side of the Friends screen. (Alternatively, you can click the two-headed Friend Requests icon that appears to the immediate right of the Facebook logo in the upper left of any screen, and then click the Find Your Friends link that appears.)

Friend suggestions. As you just learned, Facebook suggests folks you might be interested in being friends with based on criteria such as your profile details and the friends you already have. To see these suggestions, follow the steps on Finding People Who Are Facebook Members.

Open the message and click the green Confirm Friend button or the confirmation link. Doing so whisks you to the Facebook page where you can confirm your friendship as explained in the next section.

To add a handful of friends to an existing list quickly, click the Add Multiple button that appears on the list page. In the dialog box that appears, scroll to browse through all your pals, clicking each Facebook friend you want to add to your list. When you finish, click Save List.

To delete friends from a list, follow the steps for adding a friend to an existing list; but in step 3, instead of typing a new name, mouse over the name of one of the folks already listed and then click the Edit Lists button that appears. Finally, on the drop-down list that appears, click the name of the list you want to delete the friend from (it has a checkmark next to it). Facebook removes the person from that list and deletes the checkmark.

To delete a slew of friends from a list quickly: At the top left of any Facebook page, click the Account link and then click Edit Friends. On the left side of your Friends page, click the name of the list you want to thin. On the list page that appears, click the Add Multiple button. Then, in the dialog box that appears, scroll down to browse through all your pals, clicking each blue, checkmarked Facebook friend you want to delete from your list (the checkmark disappears after you click it to let you know that friend is off the list). When you finish, click the Save List button.

Breaking up is never easy, but sometimes you just gotta do it. Say one of your Facebook friends stabs you in the electronic back by posting inappropriate stuff on your Wall or spamming all your other friends, and you really have no choice but to cut him loose. To remove someone from your collection of Facebook friends:

Like Instagram stories, Facebook stories are another way individual users and business pages can connect with their friends and followers. Stories are short pieces of content that are visible for just 24 hours. After 24 hours, the stories disappear from the newsfeed.

Facebook is powered by an algorithm that is able to learn each user's preferences and interests. Then, the algorithm displays content like images, status updates, and videos posted by friends and businesses that the user might be interested in. The goal for Facebook is to get users to engage with, consume, and share content.

Set up your privacy settings. Personalize your profile. Like and follow public pages. Review your timeline. Add friends on Facebook. Post on Facebook. Add photos and videos. Connect with friends. Review your newsfeed. Discover additional Facebook features.

The main purpose of Facebook is to help friends and family connect with each other. And the best way to connect with your friends and family is by updating them about your life with status updates. To share a Facebook status, go to the text box at the top of your news feed page or on your profile page.

To chat with your friends or public pages on Facebook, use Facebook Messenger. You can access it by tapping the Messages button at the top right corner of any Facebook page or selecting the Messages button on the left sidebar of the home page.

To instant message your friends' who are logged onto Facebook at the same time as you, tap the Chat button on the bottom of any Facebook page and strike up a conversation with your friends who are online.

The Events page on Facebook will show you any upcoming events that are popular with your Facebook friends or have been set up by the groups you belong to. You can also find events based on their date, location, and category.

By this post, I got a number of things that are essential for my facebook safety. I upload many pics and post and I just want only those people can see my post who is my facebook friend. Apart from that, my facebook can open that one who is my friend list. So, I needed to read this type of post. So that I can also add a restriction on my facebook. Thanks for updated this Post. Such a big help I got by this post.

Bonus: Facebook also creates Smart Lists for you. Smart lists are automatically updated based on profile info your friends have in common with you (like your work, school, family, and city). You can also manually add and remove friends from the smart lists to make them more accurate.

Select Friends icon at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, and then open the Find friends tab. Choose Invite to send an invitation to a random player you wish to add as your friend. Invitations from other players are displayed in the tab with the envelope icon.

If you market products or services tied to life events, even tangentially, you can target people who have recently moved, started a new job, gotten engaged or married. You can target people in their birthday month, or leading up to their anniversary. You can even target people whose friends have an upcoming birthday.

Note: Each time you want to add another level of targeting, be sure to click Narrow Audience or Narrow Further. Each item should say Must also match about the selected criteria.

Facebook is an excellent tool for keeping in touch with family and friends. But the longer you spend on it, the more cluttered it becomes. You might not realize it, but every group, page or event you join will add posts to your feed.

What many people may not realize is that by keeping your Friends list public, you're also putting your friends at risk for account cloning scams. The scam only works when the person behind it can contact your friends pretending to be you to request money or to send phishing messages, such as the classic "Is this you?" video scam. If your Friends list is private, the scam won't work.

While hiding your friends on Facebook is easy to do (and I'll walk you through it below), it isn't completely foolproof. Others can still see "mutual friends" on your profile, though not the rest of your Friends list. And if your friend has a public Friends list, others will be able to see your connection to them in their list.

The first step to protect your privacy is selecting who can see your Friends list. My recommendation is to set it to "Friends only," though for maximum privacy, set it to "Only me." The process is similar whether you're accessing Facebook on a web browser or using the app.

Setup on mobile is almost identical to the browser settings, the only difference is that the browser lets you create custom lists, whereas the mobile app only allows you to select existing custom lists. This likely won't matter for most people.
