LDAP novice here, running TDS-6.0.0.3 on HP-UX 11.11 --- All was up
and running fine, then the server was rebooted. The admin server
starts up fine, but when I try to start the ldap instance using
idsslapd -I db2inst1 it fails to start with the following errors:

GLPRDB001E Error code -1 from function:" SQLConnect " ldapdb2b .
SQL1652N File I/O error occurred.
GLPRDB004E The LDAP directory server is unable to connect to the
database.
GLPSRV064E Failed to initialize be_config.
GLPSRV040E Error encountered. Server starting in configuration only
mode.
GLPCOM024I The extended Operation plugin is successfully loaded from
libloga.sl.

This is what is running:
root 17074 1 0 21:16:16 pts/ta 0:01 /home/db2inst1/sqllib/bin/
db2bp 13799A0 5 A
root 27830 1 0 16:15:30 ? 0:10 /opt/IBM/db2/V8.1/bin/
db2fmcd
db2inst1 6200 1 0 10:23:40 pts/ta 0:00 /opt/IBM/ldap/V6.0/
sbin/32/ibmdiradm
root 6677 6360 1 10:28:30 pts/td 0:00 grep db2
db2inst1 6562 1 0 10:27:22 pts/td 0:00 /opt/IBM/ldap/V6.0/
sbin/32/ibmslapd -I db2inst1

Am I missing a db2 process? I thought the db2 process was kicked off
upon starting ldap instance.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

check the log file db2cli.log located in the directory
/home/db2inst1/idsslapd-db2inst1/logs

I suspect that your user db2inst1 is locked or the password is expired.

The server needs to connect to the database to start normally. Any
failure to do so will start the server in config mode. Pls check the
<user_home>/sqllib/db2dump/db2diag.log file. It will give information
on what actually has gone wrong for DB2.

you must check that the db2 is running. you can look for this from
log files. if log files says that db2 is running. you must check
db2inst1 users password's expire.

Even I'm also getting the same issue. I'm not getting how to reset the db2inst1 users password.Below is the link to enable debug trace
