I've got big rubber "feet" (sold by electronic component
distributors) on my Thinkpad to keep more room underneath for airflow
and to avoid over-heating surfaces that its sitting on.
Probably used the adhesive that came on them originally. Since
then one fell off, and I think (plus it looks like) I then used
double-sided tape on it, which has lasted a few years since.
I'd try some better double-sided tape, or similar products. Hot glue
won't be much good.
