CONFIGURE BIRT FOR MAXIMO
Configuring BIRT to work with Maximo does have a few steps to follow
and they must be followed precisely, however it is not too tricky and
I encourage you to follow this guide to achieve the desired result.
NOTE: Use forward slashes or the Select button when specifying the
folder paths in Eclipse.
Copy the contents of the Maximo\reports\BIRT folder on the Maximo
server to a folder parallel to the workspace that you created earlier.
Specify the resource folder location to import the V7 Libraries.
A. From the Menu, select Window - Preferences.
B. Expand Report Design and select Resource.
C. Browse to your local report library location and select Apply.
<V7115>/reports/birt/libraries
Specify the templates folder location to import the V7 Templates.
A. If not already open, from the menu, Select Window - Preferences.
B. Expand Report Design and select Template.
C. Browse to your local report template location and select Apply.
<V7115>/reports/birt/templates
Disable the Comment Template.
A. If not already open, from the menu, Select Window – Preferences –
Report Design – Comment Template
B. Remove the flag from the ‘Generate comment when creating a report
design’ field if it is set.
Note: The field is disabled by default
You should now be able to open one of the supplied Maximo reports and
preview it.
Note that if you open a supplied report, make modifications then save
it, the report will be saved to your Project folder, leaving the
original report intact.

If you run into issues configuring the BIRT Designer, please check the
following
to confirm the configuration/install settings.
