efficient query for max 4 data

greetings. I need to develop some data for input via mea into maximo
6.

the source is a maximo 4 db.
The location hierarchy is organized so each site has a different top
level location.
I would like to put together an efficient query to retrieve all the
assets that use locations that exist under a certain top level
location
(site).


we are using Oracle. I could come up with a fairly inefficient one
using pl/sql.


I appreciate any specific or general suggestions.
