In a Food Stamp transaction, if the customer doesn't have enough money
on the card and the transaction gets rejected, I have found that you
cannot just void items off to get the total down. When food stampable
items are voided off, the system generates a B183 and you must add the
items back to the transaction to be able to tender it out. If you
don't add items to get back to the original amount, then you get stuck
in a loop where every time you try to tender out the transaction, you
get the B183 message.

Does anyone have a good solution for this? There must be a way to
void items off of a food stamp transaction without having to re ring
the entire order.

You don't need to void off the Food Stamp items. They are apid for and that is what gets you in the loop to begin with. Do a 15 signon to see the items that are not food stampable and you should be able to cash out. If you alter the food stamp total after a successful food stamp tender that is what gets the sale in trouble. Put the food stamp itrms back where they were and void the non food stamp you should be good.

Thanks,

Glen

In Joey's scenario they are not paid for because the customer's "EBT
card balance" was less than the "Food Stamp Total" portion of the
transaction, that is why it was rejected. After the EBT rejection, have
you tried hitting Clear then Total, then voiding off some Food Stamp
items? The "15 Signon" is a good way to help the cashier and customer
determine which items to void to get within the card balance.
