Discount base on Terminal

Attention All,

Can I give customers a discount percentage on the entire purchase, restricted to only certain terminals? Our location is split into two building, one for regular retail items and the other for natural and organic products. To drive customers into the natural and organic side, we want to give them the incentive to shop there. We do not want to give the same incentive on the other side. Both locations are using the same CC controller.

Hi Daryl,

You should be able to create a terminal specific options set and add a
transaction discount to its personalization. I think that would
require them to key the discount each time though, are you wanting it
to occur automatically without cashier intervention?

Ok perfect. A transaction discount in the terminal options should work for you then.

Have you tried setting the transaction discount for a terminal group and then assigning those terminals to that group?

Since I was able to get this configured and working correctly, I now have another requirement for these terminals. I need to restrict using a customer loyalty number at these registers. How can I accomplish this?

Here is a clarification of what I am trying to accomplish....

I have a store location that is separated into two  building, next to each other. In one of the buildings I have 3 registers with their own option files. As part of the store setup I have a customer loyalty number, let’s say its 12345. This customer number is used by the cashiers to give a 10% on organic produce every day of the week at any of the registers. However, for the month of October we are giving the customer 15% off the entire transaction if they shop in the location that has the 3 registers. During October, when the customer is getting the 15% at the 3 registers, we want to exclude them from the 10% discount on the organic produce. The cashier is aware of this but something they are complacent and give the customer the 10%. How can I prevent giving the 10% at these 3 register, even if the cashier use the customer number 12345 that initiates the 10% discount? The other registers should still be allow to give the 10%.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
