Activity and Behavior Computing（行動とふるまいコンピューティング）に関する国際会議ABC2027のPreliminary CFPをご案内します。ABC2027は、2027年1月19-22日にSydney, Australia (Hybrid)で開催予定です。
ABC2027は、モントリオールでのABC DEFINE Workshopでの議論を踏まえ、Prof. Anind Dey、Prof. Björn W. Schuller、Prof. Paul Lukowicz、Prof. Thomas Plötz、Prof. Masahiko Inamiを含む国際的なAdvisory Committeeの助言を受けながら準備を進めています。
また、ABC2026で14件の採択・position採択につながったmini-funding / mentorship initiativeも継続予定です。

Human Activity Recognition has been researched in thousands of papers so far, with mobile / environmental sensors in ubiquitous / pervasive domains, and with cameras in vision domains. Human Behavior Analysis has also been explored for long-term health care, rehabilitation, emotion recognition, human interaction, and related areas. However, many research challenges remain for realistic settings, such as complex and ambiguous activities / behavior, multimodal sensing, interactive systems, learning from limited or noisy data, deployment in real environments, and useful applications.
In this conference, we comprehend such research domains as ABC: Activity and Behavior Computing, and provide an open and confluent place for discussing various aspects and the future of ABC.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We welcome papers and proposals related to Activity and Behavior Computing. Building on discussions from the ABC DEFINE Workshop held in Montreal in June 2026, ABC2027 expands its scope while keeping the original ABC focus on sensing, modeling, systems, and real-world applications.
The submitted papers are peer reviewed by expert researchers and accepted based on research quality, relevance, and contribution.
Accepted and presented regular papers are planned for IEEE Proceedings, subject to approval, or a J-Stage open access journal. Details will be announced later.

• Environmental sensor-based ABC
• Vision-based ABC
• Multimodal ABC
• Physical / semantic analysis of ABC
• Activity recognition and behavior modeling
• Uncertainty-aware behavior modeling
• Gait and sleep analysis
• Emotion recognition and analysis
• Deep learning and foundation models for ABC
• ABC data mining and synthetic data
• Data collection and digital twins
• ABC systems and edge AI
• Interactive ABC and human-AI interaction
• Human-robot interaction and assistive agents
• Healthcare and nursing applications
• Elderly care applications
• Sports applications
• Tools for industry
• Trust, privacy, and real-world evaluation
• ABC in the wild
CATEGORIES
- Regular papers: full technical content papers, published in
+ IEEE proceedings, subject to approval (4-10 pages) or
+ J-Stage open access journal (6-15 pages).
- Position papers (2-4 pages): describe the challenges and future directions of ABC based on problems that arise when systems are deployed in real settings (Not to be published).
- Challenge papers: TBA.
MINI-FUNDING / MENTORSHIP
ABC2027 is also planning to continue the mini-funding / mentorship program for students and early-career researchers. Details will be announced separately. In ABC2026, the program led to 14 accepted or position-accepted papers, often with mentor co-authorship or continued research exchange.
