Dear IBIS Participants,
Glad to share a brief update on the IBIS Challenge.
(1) The challenge is running nicely with more than 80 registered teams and more than 200 scored submissions consisting of nearly ten thousand individual solutions for particular TFs and experiment combinations. Baseline solutions are beaten in all Leaderboard disciplines but there is a huge room for improvement.
(2) Many registered teams did not make any submissions. Fear not to enter the fray! Participating in the Final does not require making a complete Leaderboard submission, but it remains a great opportunity to test unorthodox ideas and debug technical issues.
(3) The final data for the challenge is now available for download! Feel free to use it during the Leaderboard stage, e.g. to generate negative controls or to train complex multi-headed models.
(4) Last but not least, remember, that all registered members of the teams that will submit the complete Final submissions for the primary disciplines (i.e. covering the full set of TFs for PWMs or AAAs or both) will be included in the joint IBIS Consortium authorship in the post-challenge manuscript, with no regard to their final score rankings.
* All final submitters will be included into the Consortium authorship, while the members of the top-scoring teams will be personally invited to co-author the manuscript, just as planned.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with your questions, comments, and feedback.
On behalf of the IBIS Organizing Committee,
Ivan V. Kulakovskiy
