Hi everyone, hope you are staying cool! Does anyone have experience with wasp spray and know if it is ok to use away from butterflies but on the same property? Just trying to get a sense of how "serious" it is; do I have to change my clothes after using it and before going into the lab, etc.

Bonnie,

If they are common paper wasps, the best thing is to watch them or search to determine where the nest is located. There is probably more than one nest around, but when you locate one, wait until after dark when the adults are roosting on the nest for the night and then spray the nest.
