Dear Prof.

When performing calculations in EEL3D, which eddy dissipation model is used during the solving process? In which file are the solver's equations defined? Alternatively, could you recommend any relevant papers? I would like to understand the implementation format of eddy dissipation in detail to verify its suitability for my model and assess whether a turbulence model should be introduced.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay on this.

I am not sure that I am exactly answering your question, but at present, IBAMR does not directly provide any eddy dissipation models. However, it does provide high-resolution slope limiter methods, which will provide some numerical dissipation and provide a type of “implicit LES”.

In IBAMR, PPM corresponds to xsPPM7 from https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcp.2007.02.023. A lot of the examples that I originally wrote use this.

IBAMR also provides an implementation of CUI — see https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcp.2007.01.021 and https://doi.org/10.1016/j.compfluid.2014.10.005 . Amneet has gotten very good results with CUI, and a lot of the examples that he and his students have put together use it.

IBAMR also provides wave-propagation algorithms similar to those in WENOCLAW https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-540-75712-2_60. Aaron put those together. I think they have mostly been used for complex fluids models.
