There are a lot of users wanting to do airfoil simulations in IBAMR.One thing to confirm is that the boundary conditions and domain sizes are consistent --- I know that they can make important differences for very simple problems, like flow past a cylinder or sphere, and I would anticipate the same would hold for airfoils.
It should be very easy to make comparisons with IBFE, using either filled or unfilled domains. (See this paper for what we think are best practices: https://arxiv.org/abs/2105.14536.) With the IIM implementation, there could possibly be issues with the sharp corner at the trailing edge. It might also make sense to try to use only velocity penalization with IIM for a stationary boundary. We surely can investigate, although I am not sure about the precise timeframe.

Thank you for the quick reply and your suggestions! The figure shows the "hydro_force_pressure[1]" and it is from the same code as you sent to me.
I tried to run the command you mentioned but it seems to be an error. I am not sure if I did it right.
