Dear all,

I am currently simulating the contraction and expansion motion of a jellyfish using the shape shown in the figure below. I apply a sine-based motion function on both sides of the jellyfish bell edge and use the parameter kappa to move the jellyfish to the desired position. However, after running the simulation, I observe that the vortices around the jellyfish become chaotic, and they tend to penetrate into the grid.

Additionally, I encounter another issue: the areas not subjected to the motion function do not move along with the region where the motion is applied.

Could anyone kindly suggest the potential causes for these issues, and how I might resolve them?

Below are some images showing the key code I have implemented. If the issue might be in other parts of my code, I will include those sections as well for review.

Could anyone suggest the possible reasons for this behavior, and how I might resolve it?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions.

Best regards,
Xue
