Hi,

My linux-debug folder is taking up 68GB of space, but linux-opt is only taking up 4.5GB after running 'make -j4' -- can I safely remove the linux-opt folder now and keep compiling? Will IBAMR need the PETSC linux-debug architecture later on for some reason? I'm working in an 80GB /home directory space on a cluster.  If need be, I'll move to larger storage but /home is the most convenient for the researchers I'm working with.

Thanks for your help!

John

This is in PETSc? I don't think that debug or optimized builds should be taking up that much space. I'd suggest following up with the petsc-users email list (see: https://petsc.org/release/community/mailing).

If you installed PETSc after building it (an 'out of place' build), then I think that you can remove the build directories. (FWIW, I usually build PETSc 'in place'.) There is more documentation here: https://petsc.org/release/install/install/#installation-location-in-place-or-out-of-place.
