Im based in Australia, and have some experience with CASA, and I dont know how
such a process can be achieved, or even if CASA do such things.

Afternoon.
I used to be a flight operations inspector with the CAA (not in Australia) and we used AMOCs (Alternate methods of compliance). As long as the INTENT of the law or regulation is maintained, the CAA would not have an issue approving new technology. You would have to go through an application/demonstration/approval process to show reliability, redundancy, etc., just like the certification process, but providing you do your homework, and work diligently, there shouldn't be a problem. I am in the process of doing just that for the company I work with now. Bear in mind that some people are not as willing to embrace these new technologies so you might have to take it slow.

Good luck.

Dominic
